Cross-Country Course
The course
The cross-country course at Brookleigh is an exceptional training facility or competition venue for both seasoned event horses or those just starting out on their jumping career. The course was professionally designed and built by FEI course-builder Wayne Copping.
There is a huge variety of jumps suitable for all levels of competency, including two water complexes, banks, ditches, brush fences, angled jumps and corners, ski jumps, logs small and large, and everything in between.
Cross-country events are regularly held at Brookleigh, including some annual events not to be missed in the equestrian calendar. There are also numerous cross-country clinics in the Brookleigh calendar for all levels of rider. These clinics are hosted by some of the top names on the eventing scene from home and abroad, including regular clinics with Sonja Johnson, Western Australia's own Olympic silver medallist, and EFA 'Coach of the Year' for 2005, 2006 & 2007, Jan Jankowski.
Brookleigh is also the home of the W.A.Y.E.R (West australian Young Event Riders) clinics, which provide top level coaching and clinic opportunities for committed competitors, mostly competing at Intro through Pre-Novice level, though FEI riders and higher level horses often take advantage of the high level of intensive instruction offered. There is ample parking available for floats, with easy access, and accommodation is available for both horses and riders.
So whether you are an individual looking to introduce your youngster to some new challenges or a Club Secretary looking for a venue for your next event, Brookleigh cross-country course is the ideal choice.
