Why go for a BYO wedding?

1.The Venue

  • No Minimum Spend

Often there is a minimum spend required for wedding venues that require you to use their in-house catering. This figure, which may be $10,000, is expected to be paid no matter how many guests show up. So, if your RSVP total drops closer to the day, you will still be required to pay the $10,000 minimum. At Brookleigh there is no additional cost for the venue hire unless chairs or tables are required for over 100 guests.

  • Flexibility

Brookleigh Estate is the ideal venue to cater to every culture and tradition that you may want to incorporate into your special day. Show honour and respect to your guests that have travelled near and far to be with you on the day by including your cultural and family traditions in your ceremony and reception. We have enjoyed seeing the Haka performed, watching a bride walk down the aisle to a didgeridoo, Scottish bagpipes, tea ceremonies and Hindu rice ceremonies. Each wedding at Brookleigh is different and unique. You can incorporate traditions that hold spiritual and ritual significance to your family. We offer a variety of stunning reception and ceremony locations. Whether you are going for an intimate ceremony or a reception with up to 1000 guests: Brookleigh Estate is the place for you.

  • Uniquely and Exclusively Yours

As your Ceremony and Reception are at the same venue, your timeline for the day is entirely up to you and is another opportunity to let your personalities shine through on the day. The BYO aspect adds to this as you may want to provide some nibbles or a grazing table for post ceremony refreshments whilst your bridal party are taking photos. The guests can then move to the Reception area where another party is catering the meal and the desserts could be brought in by your own family, a professional cake maker or even boxed up local macaroons or doughnuts!

2. The Drinks

  • The Cost!

Alcohol can be one of the largest costs associated with weddings, and being able to BYO can significantly help reduce your budget spend. If you have full control over the purchasing, you are not paying for a package that has a price per head even though you know Aunt Margie doesn’t drink at all!

  • Control

You have the say over the type and number of drinks, wine, beer and champagne that is offered. Do you want wine from the Swan Valley? Done! Want more than two beer choices? Easy! You may even be bold enough to offer your own home brew! The choice is all yours.

  • The Return

Leftover alcohol does not become the venues advantage but, as you own it, can be enjoyed by you or gifted to those that helped out on your wedding day. Plus, some providers, such as Dan Murphy’s, even let you return what is unopened after the event so you don’t have to worry about being left with a full cool room!

3. The Food

  • Unique to you!

Organise high class catering, wood fired pizzas, a hog roast, family style feast platters, food trucks or a garden style picnic! Please all ages and all backgrounds at your wedding with different options, even from different caterers! Brookleigh is a unique and fun environment for the catering companies to work out of and we enjoy building relationships with them.

  • Dietary concerns

Make it easy to cater to your gluten free, dairy free or Halal guests by finding a caterer that specialises in this! There is nothing more conflicting than finding the perfect venue but having to settle for a chef or menu that you do not love.

Whether you are going for an intimate ceremony or a reception with up to 1000 guests:

Brookleigh Estate is the place for you.

Why go for a Brookleigh BYO wedding?

We tick all of the boxes with the points above as well as:

  • We provide the big basics

We provide the four “big basics” with the venue hire: toilets, bins, power and lighting. You are not given an empty space without the basic facilities! Vendors have access to our power and water, there is plenty of (free) parking.

  • Bump in time flexibility

Our bump in and bump out times are 10 a.m. for the setup and pack down of your function. However, we often allow the delivery of items prior to the day as they can be stored on site ahead of time. This applies to bump out as well if the items are moved to another location by your party but is not the case for all functions. This can assist you with paying less for pick up on a Sunday for example from your supplier.

  • We include chairs and tables

In our Beauty of Brookleigh package we provide chairs and tables and the setup and pack down for all items that we provide for the ceremony and reception.

  • We have additional items that can be hired

It is possible to hire additional items at Brookleigh Estate such as wine barrels, cocktail tables, etc. and do not have a minimum spend or delivery fee!

  • We are an exclusive venue!

Unique to any other venue in the Perth area, Brookleigh offers it all in the one place. You can have the ceremony, the reception, your photo shoot and the accommodation for the Bride, Groom and guests all at the same location. We do not hold more than one function at a time, there is always a guarantee that there will never be more than one Brookleigh Bride at a time on the Estate.

  • We still provide an event coordinator!

Some venues are completely DIY so you are handed a set up keys and left to your own devises! This can sound thrilling but also places a lot of responsibility on you as the bride(s) and groom(s). This may be a bit too much control than what some people want for their wedding day. At Brookleigh, you have an onsite events coordinator on the day that assists with vendor arrivals and management, direction to toilets and parking for guests, check-ins for accommodation and they are hands on with setting up your ceremony and reception. There is always an owner on site throughout the evening in case of emergency as well.

  • Confidence

For those that love the BYO aspect but are not confident (or interested!) in deciding on the placement of every single table and furniture piece, we will use our experience to make these decisions so that you have less work to do.

  • International and Interstate Weddings

We LOVE receiving guests that have travelled across the country or world for your big day and our accommodation sleeps 36 people in total. This fact, combined with our exclusivity rule means that your guests get to enjoy the whole of the property during their visit and really feel at home. Even guests that travel from down south in WA feel like they are much further from the city than 25 minutes! Cater to your international guests’ tastes by bringing in your own food. How excited would they be to see wine or desserts on the table from their home country!
