We were looking for a place that really had a warm and natural feel for our wedding. The grounds of Brookleigh Estate are truly enchanting and totally fit with what we had in mind. The venue has a serene and calm feel with beautiful walks, rustic landscape and numerous charming settings/backdrops – we considered them all and even changed our minds a few times, settling on the beautiful gazebo at The Lakeside. The horses also make for a lovely backdrop against the tall trees and open fields and I enjoyed getting to know some of them on my visits to the Estate when preparing for the special day.

Originally thinking we would use the dolphin fountain area which has a rose garden and white rose archway, the gazebo at The Lakeside stole our hearts. On the day, we were so lucky to have a lovely sunny afternoon so the water sparkled which was really nice. The gazebo itself is well equipped to take decorations and flowers and we opted for tiffany chairs which were set up by the capable staff on the day, along with everything else one could possibly need for a seamless ceremony (mic, AV, help with the signage and on-hand support). The lake fountain was running and a nice touch. Our photos at sunset were stunning too with the water alongside the trees and the potted flowers – it made for a gorgeous setting. The set up at Brookleigh fits all sorts of themes. While we went for a woodland look, I can imagine the portico, dolphin fountain and stables (our plan B for rain) would all have been great options for elegant, sheek, classic or modern. I couldn’t recommend the place more highly for versatility and overall warm feel. The staff always assured us with weather changes we could change location which is a great thing to keep in the back of your minds especially in cooler months.

Rachel, our coordinator at Brookleigh is a lovely, calming (you need that!) and professional person. She made us feel completely at ease, answering my emails, calls and texts promptly and assuring me all was in hand. From allowing us to use the AV and mic for our reception nearby to ensuring vendors had easy access to the venue, there was not a single thing that was overlooked on the day. She is a reliable support who we look forward to keeping in touch with. We really were glad we decided to stay overnight in the bridal suite, which was set up for the perfect end to the day – I was touched to find thoughtful gifts from the staff and a lovely accommodation for both ourselves and our close friends and family (both connected to the suite and in a lovely cottage nearby called The Gatehouse, few minutes walk). The provided breakfast in the morning was top notch and it’s so nice to unwind with loved ones while eating croissants and sipping coffee. The end to a perfect event. I said goodbye to the horses strolling to the car on my way out. Brookleigh is a very special place for us now indeed.
